iOS 16 Release Date: Apple releases the new OS on September 12
Apple announced today that it is releasing its latest operating system, iOS 16, on September 12.
It first announced the free upgrade last June during its Worldwide Developers Conference 2022 and released a public beta in July.
Unfortunately, the release of iPadOS 16 has been delayed despite the fact that both operating systems are traditionally released together.
As a result, the amount of features coming with the update won't be a huge surprise.
They start with a number of improvements to the lock screen, including the ability to add widgets and customize its appearance, and a new way to present notifications.
You'll be able to edit and recall sent messages, use the new shared iCloud Photo Library to share photos with, and use Live Text to extract text from videos and photos, with new capabilities added.
The new operating system is perfectly timed to be introduced alongside Apple's latest iPhones, the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max,
which will be available for pre-order on September 9th and available in stores on September 16th.
