How to use Grammarly in Google Docs

Google Docs is a word processor that many use to write everything from articles to emails. Writing is hard, so many rely on Docs' built-in spell checker to improve their writing.

Grammarly is one of the best Google Chrome extensions and offers better spelling and grammar checking.

Grammarly has many different features when used in Google Docs. Let's see what Grammarly can do.

Red Underline: As you type, Grammarly shows all the suggestions it has with a red underline.

A suggested correction will be displayed if you place the cursor on the underline. Either way, you can accept or decline Grammarly's suggestion.

Grammarly icon: When you're in a Google Doc with Grammarly enabled, there's an icon in the bottom right corner. This icon tells you information at a glance.

When the icon shows a spinning wheel, Grammarly is checking your work. If the icon is green, Grammarly doesn't see any problems with your writing.

When the icon turns red with a number inside, it means that Grammarly has detected some issues.
